Fans asked, "Why are you not on the program guide?" At the last minute, we took over the booth of another publisher that unfortunately could not attend. This all happened courtesy of the uber-hip gaming gear company, Glitch Gaming Apparel. Glitch also printed exclusive Rockin' Android t-shirts for PAX East 2012. We weren't sure what kind of reaction we would receive, but to our surprise, the community embraced us. You look around the hall and you see a lot of innovation, but we were the only publisher there focusing on indie Japanese games. For that reason, we made a splash and converted quite a few non-believers. We also ran contests and gave out free t-shirts and games. The shirts were a big hit and who doesn't love free awesome games, right?
Since this was last minute, and we have the super wicked Bunny Must Die: Chelsea & the 7 Devils coming out soon, we decided to forego the press release (until after PAX East 2012) and create a BMD site with a trailer and playable demo, just days before PAX East. The idea was to gauge the audience reaction, and we think we succeeded. When Microsoft producers come to your booth and get excited about your games, well, that's just fantastic! In addition to our PC releases, we have six titles for PS3 on the PlayStation Store, but we've yet to release anything on Xbox 360. As a matter of fact, we have a running version of BMD on the Xbox 360 at our offices! We'd absolutely love to see BMD on XBLA. >
We definitely expanded our fan-base and made friends with new developers and publishers. On a personal level, my favorite part was meeting the fans face-to-face. It's tough working 80 hours a week on games in the office and not getting feedback directly from the fans. Half of the time, we geeked out with the fans and connected with them in a way that our Twitter and Facebook cannot allow. We definitely made a lot of new friends. Our thanks to all of you that have supported us in the last 3 years, allowing us to continue bringing the games we love to you.Arigato gozaimasu!
